About

I'm Sheree, and I started Paint the Town about 8 years ago.

I started face painting first, and then soon after began painting temporary murals on windows, and then permanent murals on walls, floors and doors, as well as other random community artworks.

Following the WA COVID lockdown in 2020, I began running “paint and sip” style social art classes in Merredin to help get locals out and about after months of being isolated at home. They were incredibly popular, consistently selling out, so in 2023 I added craft classes (including alcohol ink painting, polymer clay jewellery making, resin pouring, basket weaving and metal stamping) to her offerings.

In May 2023 I opened my own commercial premises in the main street of Merredin.

How does it all work?

Frequently asked questions

01

Art workshop located in Merredin

I have a dedicated art and craft workshop and retail space based in Merredin where my Merredin workshops are hosted. There is also a quiet space for feeding, changing or settling overstimulated little ones which anyone is welcome to use whenever we're open.

02

Yes, I travel!

I love using painting as an excuse to travel around our beautiful state, so I'm happy to travel anywhere I'm wanted. A travel fee will apply. Contact Sheree to discuss.

03

What should you provide?

I provide all art & craft supplies required for the classes. If you come to my Merredin workshop, you are welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks, but that's all you need to bring. If you're bringing me to your town, all you need to provide is a venue with running water, and snacks/nibbles if you wish. If I'm facepainting for you, a table and chair is appreciated but not necessary - I can bring my own. For facepainting, I require a shady spot to set up to protect my paints and the children in my queue.

04

What about health and safety?

I use high quality cosmetic grade face paint, body glue, glitter and special effects make up. The specific brands I use include TAG, Cameleon, Mehron, Global, Paradise and Wolfe. Brushes, sponges and paints are sanitised before, during and after each booking. I also have full public liability insurance and a current Working With Children card available on request.

Award winner!

Sheree won the "Side Hustle Superstar" category with Paint the Town WA in the 2023 Australian Ladies in Business Inititative awards held in Sydney in October!

Everyone is welcome

Paint the Town WA is an inclusive business. I can't change the whole world, but I can cordon off a small corner of it to be a safe, welcoming space for everyone the world wasn't built to accommodate.

Female friendly - on purpose

With free period products available and a quiet space with a nursing chair and a change table for anyone needing to feed, change or settle overstimulated children, we aim to be female friendly - on purpose.

Mental health aware

Being good at art is not the point of doing it, in my opinion. Losing yourself in something creative, surrounding yourself with like-minded people and getting involved in the community are all good for the soul. Whatever you're going through and whatever you need, you have a place here.

Diversity has a home here

Whatever makes you different outside my walls becomes your super power inside them. Neurospicy friendly, LGBTIQA+ friendly, and health conditions or impairments will be accommodated in any way you need.

"Out of all the things Sheree has given me – amazing pieces of art to bring home, some skills and confidence to keep learning, some beautiful gifts for my loved ones – the greatest gift she has given is the time and space to spend quality, creative time with those I love. Sheree is creating the gift of ‘moments’ that we will all remember forever.
